EAGLES BRING HOME BRONZE MEDALS FROM PLATTSVILLE LITTLE BRAVE TOURNAMENT!
The Novice LL2 team took part in the Plattesville Little Brave March Break tournament on Tuesday March 17th.

The Eagles opened the tournament against the St. Mary's Red Wings.  After starting off a little sluggish the Eagles found themselves down by a goal and trailed 1-0 until mid-way through the third period.  Carson "Wheels" Cumming took the puck from end to end and scored the tieing goal unassisted.  The Eagles took the lead with 4mins left to play when St. Mary's scored into their own net.  The goal was credited to Kaden "Black Shadow" Smith.

Game 2 saw the Eagles square off with a very tough team from Embro.  After playing a very strong first period the Eagles were unable to hold off the Edge and suffered a 7-1 loss and were sent to the Bronze medal game.  The lone goal was scored by Carson "Wheels" Cumming at 4:25 of the second period when he once again took the puck the length of the ice and beat the Embro goalie.

The Bronze medal game was a re-match between the Eagles and the Red Wings from St. Mary's. The kids were excited and eager to try to bring home a medal.  Kaden "Black Shadow" Smith opened the scoring 1 min. 15 secs into the game, assisted by Carson "Wheels" Cumming and the Eagles didn't look back!  Carson "Wheels" Cumming picked up a hat-trick as he scored the next three Eagle goals at 7:52 & 2:13 of Period 1 and at 2:58 of Period 3.  Cole "Batman" Janicek assisted on Cumming's second goal.  On the back of a solid team effort including great defense by Ryan "Rhyno" Stevens, Jack "Blackjack" Stewart, Briley "Smiley" Cole & Alex "Bulldog" Nemcek the Eagles carried their 4-0 lead to the Bronze medal!  Wyatt "The Wall" Grover had a great day in net and earned a big shut-out in the final game!

There were many bright spots for the Eagles throughout the day.  Isaac "The Surgeon" Goss was all over the ice and looked to have rockets for skates! Will "Robin" Janicek was a stick-handling machine!  Madison "Mad-Dog" Rombouts had three great games!  Briley "Smiley" Cole was the legion of boom as she showed a few players who was boss with her big hits!  Mikey "Shotgun" George & Gordon "Flyers" Bresette scored key goals in securing Eagle victories in the shoot-out competitions.

After the game many of the players and parents celebrated the win with a team dinner at "Trails Edge" Tavern in Plattsville.  It was a great way to end a fine St. Patrick's Day!  The team had a couple of fantastic days in Kitchener.  The memories made in the hotel pool, elevator and lounge will certainly last a lifetime!  It was awesome for the players, parents and coaches to share in some off-ice fun time together!
