EAGLES ONE POINT AWAY FROM LEAGUE FINAL AFTER BIG WIN AT HOME!
On a nasty winter afternoon in East Lambton, The Lambeth Lancers 2 team made the arctic trek to Watford to play game 3 of league playoffs with the high-flying East Lambton Eagles 2 team!

The Eagles got the party started when Carson "Wheels" Cumming streaked into Lambeth territory and found the twine at 7:54 of the first period! Cole "Batman" Janicek picked up the assist on the play! Four minutes later, Kaden "Black Shadow" Smith scored to make it 2-0 after he made no mistake of burrying the puck after a gorgeous pass from the stick of Cole "Batman" Janicek! Just a perfect display of teamwork! With 2:41 to go in the first frame, it was once again "Black Shadow" who picked up his seventh goal in three games, when he scored, assisted by Isaac "The Surgeon" Goss! 3-0 Eagles after 1! The defensive corps and Wyatt "The Wall" Grover looked to be inpenetrable during the first period!

Period 2 was a hard fought period of hockey for both teams! All kinds of hard work all over both ends of the ice! Lambeth had several opportunities, but amazing back-checking by the Eagles thwarted almost every chance that Lambeth could muster! At 2:49 of the second, Wyatt "The Wall" Grover made a fantastic save, but the Eagles were not able to clear the rebound and Lambeth was able to shovel it by a diving, Grover, to make it 3-1! That was the score going into the third period.

A brief team huddle, a reminder that we were in good shape and a coache's request to really give it their all in period 3, seemed to light a bit of a fire under the Eagles in the 3rd period! Five minutes into the 3rd, Carson Cumming scored, unassisted to put the Eagles ahead with a little insurance at 4-1! At 5:39 Isaac "The Surgeon" Goss also picked up a beauty goal unassisted, to make it 5-1! With 3:02 to go in the game, Cole "Batman" Janicek was finally rewarded for all of his hard work, when he scored to make it 6-1! That capped a 3-point game for Janicek who had a whale of  a game! Kaden "Black Shadow" Smith also had a 3-point game as he picked up the assist on Janicek's goal!

At the final buzzer, it was the Eagles taking away a pivotal 2 points and a 5-1 stranglehold in the series!
The win came as a result of solid team play, and everyone filling a role on the ice! Jack "BlackJack" Stewart held the puck in at the Lambeth blue line about a million times today, resulting in the Eagles keeping all kinds of pressure in the Lambeth zone! Briley "Smiley" Cole was digging for the puck with her big-girl muscles, and also did a great job of moving the puck ahead to the forwards, and out of our zone! Madison "Mad-Dog" Rombouts put up a solid fore-check and was a big part of setting up one of our goals! Alex "Bulldog" Nemcek and Ryan "Rhyno" Stevens also played very solid games defensively! Gordon "Flyers" Bressette was chasing that puck like it was a Tim-Bit and also gave a solid effort! Mikey "Shotgun" George also worked hard out there! He had a pretty full head of sweat after the game which tells us coaches that he was trying his best! William "Robin" Janicek did not appear on the score sheet today, but he skated hard and was a pesky thorn in the sides of any Lambeth player who tried to skate away with the puck! Wyatt Grover had another excellent day in net as he stopped 19 of 20 shots! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!

The Eagles will return to action tomorow, Sunday Feb. 15 at 4:30 in Lambeth! They will advance to the league finals with a win or a tie! GO EAGLES GO!!
