EAGLES LOSE A CLOSE ONE AT HOME!
The Novice LL 2 team was back in action on Thursday night in Alvinston against the Strathroy Jr. Rockets White!

Going into the game, the dressing room discussion was about how even though our opponents were near the bottom of the standings, they were not to be taken lightly! Strathroy White has been showing real signs of improvement over the course of the season, and despite having only notched one win, they were hungry, and we needed to be ready!

Strathroy came out flying! They managed to put a puck into our net in the opening 2 minutes of the game! It seemed to be a bit of a wake up call, as the Eagles began to work really hard after that! The Eagles seemed to focus a little harder on preventing the Rockets from setting up in our zone. They did a good job of keeping the action to the outside and away from Wyatt "The Wall" Grover! After 2 periods the Eagles found themselves still down, 1-0!

In the third period, 8 minutes passed without any scoring. At 6:51, Carson "Wheels" Cumming brought a spark of life to the Eagles bench, when he came in on the Rocket's goalie and rung the puck off of the post and into the net, tying the game at 1-1!

The score would remain tied, until 2:16 of the 3rd, when off of a defensive zone faceoff Stratroy managed to win the draw out in front of our net, resulting in a quick one-timer goal and a 2-1 Strathroy lead!

In the dying minutes, with the Eagles net empty, there was a flurry of fast and furious action in the Strathroy end of the rink, and despite some nice shots on goal, the Eagles were unable to snap a puck past the Rockets goalie who played a solid game between the pipes! Final score, 2-1, Rockets.

The Eagles played a good game! There was some really good effort out there on the ice, some nice passing and a marked improvement positional play!

Wyatt "The Wall" Grover had another solid performance in net, turning away 13 of the 15 shots he faced!
