The East Lambton Eagles Pee Wee girls recently travelled to Stratford for the Festival Cup Challenge Tournament and came home with silver medals!
In the preliminary round, the girls defeated Lucan 1-0, tied Mitchell 2-2, overpowered Kent County 8-0 and then lost to Grey Highland 3-0. Zoe Fex, Aaliyah Cole, Mikayla Wilson and Jenna McLean earned Player of the Game honours.
In semi-final action, East Lambton faced Mitchell again and this time came out ahead 2-1. This earned the team a spot in the finals against Grey Highland. It was a tough battle right down to the wire ending in a 1-1 tie after regular play. The game was still tied after sudden death overtime so a shootout was necessary to declare a champion. Grey Highland eventually won the shootout in the 4th round.
