Pee Wee LL White Captures Gold!
The East Lambton Pee Wee LL White Team competed in the Woodley/Hoskins Memorial Tournament hosted by The South Kent Minor Hockey Association December 15-16. The Eagles opened the tournament with a 3-2 win over the host South Kent Lightning in a fiercely contested match-up ! In game 2, the Eagles took on league rivals, the Mount Brydges Cougars and came away with a convincing 6-1 win! The boys were pumped and treated the fans to some high-tempo hockey! The lop-sided win secured the number 1 seed after round robin play and set the stage for an early morning semi-final contest on Sunday against the number 6 seeded Port Stanley Sailors. The Eagles wasted no time in sending the Sailors out to sea and punched their ticket to the Championship Game with an 11-4 victory!

The stage was set for an epic showdown and rematch with the host team South Kent Lightning who were hungry for revenge after our first meeting.  The Eagles came to the rink ready to play and put together their most complete game of the season so far! The defence stung the Lightning like a swarm of angry bees all game long and goaltender Mikey Riley was a brick wall between the pipes! Riley earned the shut-out while Joey Taylor, Carson Cumming and Jackson Coleman each scored in the Championship  Game! Final score Eagles 3, Lightning 0.  Inspired by the trendy hats worn by team manager Dan Cumming and trainer Bob Bressette, prior to their opening game, coach Scott Stewart challenged the team, promising the boys that if they were to win the tournament, they could pick a hat for him to wear! After the game, Coach Stewart stayed true to his word and wore the ridiculous green fishing hat  that the kids chose for him for the team picture!
