Two Eagles Teams Join to Show Support for Humbodlt this Holiday Season
The Bantam Rep team gathered with the Tyke team on December 12 to make Christmas cards for the families of the victims of the Humboldt, Saskatchewan Broncos bus crash that took place in April.  16 people were killed in the crash, most of them young hockey players ranging in age from 16 – 21, along with the bus driver, head coach, assistant coach, volunteer statistician, broadcaster, and the only female;  the team’s athletic therapist.  This will be the first Christmas the families are attempting to celebrate the season while still dealing with the devastating loss of their loved ones.  Our teams wanted to show our support in a small attempt to provide some sort of comfort to these families.

To let them know that people across Canada, even a small town in southwestern Ontario, are thinking of them during the Christmas season. The Bantam boys partnered up with a young Tyke boy or girl and worked together to make several cards.  It was a fun and meaningful evening with our hockey players writing thoughtful and heartfelt messages to these families. The important thing that these teams took away is that there is so much more to hockey than what happens on the ice.We are more than a game.  We are a family.  We are all Eagles.  We are all Broncos.
