Good Morning to all you East Lambton Bantam Local League fans!! It has been a busy few weeks for our boys in black (or white depending on where they are playing). Our first stop takes the team to Forest to take on the Lambton Shores Predators. It was an intense, battle for the puck kind of game with lots of hitting!! The boys seemed to be on their game, playing a speed defying game. The first period was scoreless as the buzzer sounded to end a very intense period. Jack Sanders in net was doing his job of keeping the puck from hitting the net.
Period two started with a flurry of activity...the Predators got their first goal less than a minute and a half in. However, with speed, agility and a little luck, 30 seconds later on a beauty of a pass by Will Ferguson up to Kyle Kelley who pops the first goal between the pipes leaving the goalie a little baffled at the quick change of play.
Three minutes later Carson Rombouts grabs the puck and passes up to Kyle Kelley who slams his second goal past the goaltender. The second period ends with the Predators leading 3 to 2. That was the end of scoring for the Predators as the third period was all about the Eagles!!
Three minutes into the third period Will Ferguson takes complete control of the puck, speeds down the ice and slams his first goal of the game past the pipes, leaving the goalie stunned at the speed and intensity of the little missile that barely missed his head! Three minutes later Will does a repeat of his goal, sailing down the ice, past all the defense and slammed the puck past the goalie...SCORE number 2 for Will!! Six minutes later Carson Rombouts gets the puck, skates down the ice, passes the puck off to Will Ferguson who takes the puck into the opposing zone then passes off to Kyle Kelley who SLAMS THE PUCK PAST THE GOALIE TO GET HIS FIRST HAT TRICK OF THE YEAR!!!! Way to go Eagles. They win the game
5 to 3.

Home game against the North Middlesex Stars (Parkhill)..It was a game riddled with penalties and some disappointment. After the game in Forest, the boys were riding a natural high and knew they could win against any team, if they put their mind to it. Our Eagles were scoreless in the first, with only 1 goal against them. This was a fast paced intense game. The boys were scoreless in the second period, the score was 2 to 0. Not an insurmountable number, Jack Sanders in net was doing a great job helping to keep his team in the game. It wasn't until
8:19 of the third period that the team had their first break....Kyle Kelley got an unassisted goal. The game ended with Parkhill winning 3 to 1. Get them next time boys!!!!

Traveling to Exeter to re challenge the South Huron Sabres on their home turf, our team was still feeling a little defeated after the loss the night before, but this was a new day and a new game! They had arrived in Exeter with a new lease on life, a new fire in their hearts and ready for redemption. The game started a little intensely as our first penalty was in the first minute of play....it didn't get much better throughout the game. That being said, they still played a good game. Our first goal was achieved at 6:58 as Kelly Leyton zipped up center, down the ice into the defensive end and passed the puck across to Kyle Kelley who slammed the puck into the net. Four minutes later Kyle Kelley grabs the puck away from the other team, puts the speed on and takes the puck down the ice, with Kelly Leyton hot on his heals.
Kyle passed the puck to Kelly who slams the puck past the goalie. Way to go Eagles. The second period was intense in play, and two goals by the other team... Sabres leading until 8:47 when the dynamic duo of Kyle Kelley and Carson Rombouts get control of the puck, fly down the ice and Carson slams the puck between the pipes...TIE GAME...one period to go.
The third period could be called the Battle of the Goalies as both looked determined to keep the puck out of the nets, and that they did.
Jack Sanders played a superior game helping to keep his team at the 3 -
3 tie. Eric Reimer had one of his best games of the season as he worked hard as a defense and stopped several shots from reaching his goalie, turning on the speed when needed and hammering the opposition when the need arose. Great Job Eagles.
