Silver Medal
The Novice Rep team participated in the Aylmer Flames Tournament this weekend.
On Friday night the boys took on the Aylmer Flames and where defeated by a score of 5-2. Dylan Campbell and Joey Taylor provided the scoring for the Eagles with assists going to Ty Douglas and Campbell. The boys then took on Belmont on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 3-0 victory. Goals went to Riley Pavey, Jackson Coleman and Evan Van Gorp with the assists going to Coleman with 2, Van Gorp and Pavey with singles. Next up for the Eagles was the Port Dover Pirates with the boys coming away with a convincing 8-2 win. Goals went to Van Gorp with 5, Pavey with 2 and Aidan Jones with a single. Assists went to Coleman with 2, Van Gorp with 2 and singles to Pavey, Douglas and Devon Minten. This set-up a rematch with Aylmer in the Finals. The boys started strong and held a 1-0 lead after the first period thanks to a goal by Pavey with assists to Coleman and Van Gorp. Aylmer battled back and tied things up at 2 after 2 periods with Van Gorp scoring from Pavey and Minten. The boys seemed to run out of gas in the 3rd period as Aylmer scored 4 to take the Tournament with a 6-2 win.
Congrats to the following boys on winning a Silver Medal: Joey Taylor, Aidan Jones, Ryan MacKenzie, Devon Minten, Riley Pavey, Owen Swan, Jackson Coleman, Cam Davidson, Evan Van Gorp, Dylan Campbell, Michael MacKellar, Ty Douglas and goalies Hayden Duncan and Sean Shanahan who both provided some timely saves all weekend long. The coaches are Brad MacKenzie, Mike Van Gorp, Kent Coleman and Adam MacKellar who helped us out this weekend on the bench.
